Olympic Torch Visit 

HISTORY was made on the 6th June when the Olympic Torch made its
long-awaited arrival into the seaside village of Howth. Over 4,000 people lined
the streets to welcome the torch which was brought to the Olympic Council of
Ireland Head Office on Harbour Road.

The Olympic Flame was received officially by President of Ireland Michael D.
Higgins, Mayor of Fingal Cllr. Gerry McGuire and President of the Olympic
Council of Ireland, Pat Hickey. Also in attendance from the International
Olympic Council were Sir Craig Reedy and Lord Sebastian Coe along with the
British and Russian Ambassadors.
